Teaching
Over the years, Lewis has been a visiting tutor in private music schools across the country, worked in music services, and nurtured the talents of aspiring young musicians and adult pianists alike. He runs his own private teaching practice in his West London Studio, offering students the opportunity to learn on Steinway and Blüthner grand pianos, catering for gifted musicians of all ages and abilities. Lewis specialises in teaching adults and young musicians above grade 5 level, but pianists of all ages and abilities are welcome.
Lewis’ main aim is to open the eyes of his students to the diversity of music, and the array of opportunities to which it can lead. Many past students have achieved high marks in graded examinations and diplomas, and gone on to further their music education at institutions such as the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and a variety of universities and music colleges around the world.
Lessons are typically either 60 or 90 minutes in length at a rate of £50 and £70 respectively. Lewis is a member of the Independant Society of Musicians and is a Trustee of EPTA UK.
