Over the years, Lewis has been a visiting tutor in private music schools across the country, worked in music services, and nurtured the talents of aspiring young musicians and adult pianists alike. He runs his own private teaching practice in his West London Studio, offering students the opportunity to learn on Steinway and Blüthner grand pianos, catering for gifted musicians of all ages and abilities. Lewis specialises in teaching adults and young musicians above grade 5 level, but pianists of all ages and abilities are welcome.
Lewis’ main aim is to open the eyes of his students to the diversity of music, and the array of opportunities to which it can lead. Many past students have achieved high marks in graded examinations and diplomas, and gone on to further their music education at institutions such as the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and a variety of universities around the country.
Lessons are typically either 60 or 90 minutes in length at a rate of £40 or £55 respectively. Lewis is a member of the incorporated Society of Musicians & EPTA UK, and has a DBS check which is available upon request. Lewis' Students Say...
"Lewis's teaching style suits me perfectly. Whichever piece we're working on, whether brand new or one I've played for a long time, he helps me see something new. At the end of every lesson, he leaves me feeling inspired and raring to practise. I feel very lucky to study with him, teachers like Lewis are hard to find."

“Lewis has been a great help with my piano playing. He is very good at explaining how to play very complex and tricky sections of music. Lewis is very structured in his approach to lessons and prepared me very well for my grade 8 piano exam. I whole heartily enjoy my lessons with him!”

“Lewis is a wonderful piano tutor; knowledgeable, patient, kind. He has taught my 10 year old for nearly a year now, and Luke absolutely loves him. He caters his lessons to get the very best out of Luke, and as such, Luke isn’t afraid to ask questions if he doesn’t understand something. Luke actually looks forwards to his piano lessons, which isn’t something I thought I’d ever say!”
“Lewis was my first piano tutor and from day one helped to build my confidence in learning to play and tailored lessons to what I had an interest in which was film scores. He even provided me with the sheet music to one of my favourites which I really appreciated. I’d recommend Lewis to anyone, he’s a brilliant and patient teacher.”
